TVNZ Sets the Record Straight?

NZ Herald's Article: Why the Conchords Really Took Flight

It sounds like TVNZ is trying to fend for itself in response to questions about why the Flight of the Conchords series never appeared on their NZ station first.

According to the article, budget constraints were the real reason why TVNZ didn't pick up the series. They make it sound like the network made an honest attempt to court Jemaine and Bret by making a 30-minute pilot. Now I'm curious to see this phantom pilot.

My two cents on the matter...

I’m glad it turned out the way it did or many of us might not even know about them. The article does raise one important fact...the show would never have been what it is now if TVNZ got ahold of it.

Flight of the Conchords Makes Emmys Shortlist

The Flight of the Conchords series has made the Emmys shortlist of finalists for an Emmy nomination. Mind you, they have not been nominated just yet. On the shortlist are 9 other shows vying for the Top 5 spots that will qualify them for an Emmy nomination.

Best of luck to Jemaine and Bret in obtaining such an auspicious nomination!

I've Got the Post-Tour Blues

I tried my best to post an update about my Sasquatch trip in my blog last night, but as it turns out, Wordpress doesn't like when you embed files. Who knew? I had a nice slideshow that I wanted to share as part of my update too. That's another little kink I need to work out. I'm so backlogged, it's not even funny. Ah, well...

It's still an open call for tour pics if you want to share them along with your personal experience. New JCFB Blog Post

I've moved my Sasquatch write-up to a blog that I set up a bazillion years ago for this site. I honestly never thought to update my blog until now. I'll be posting a personal account of the festival as well as a few pictures once I get back from LA. I'm debating posting my Sasquatch videos because...well, I am singing in all of them! Gah. I never knew how obnoxious I was at concerts until I heard myself wailing away on my videos. Embarrasing.
