Hot comedy and explosive drama

Two brand new comedy series have the go ahead thanks to NZ On Air funding. Funding will also go to a new one-off drama, which is set to be a blast.

A Kiwi comic dream team will come together for a new series on TV3 In The Beginning There Was…..Nothing; a sketch style comedy show that should deliver plenty of laughs.

“The list of the show’s creators reads like an NZ comedy who’s who, and includes the Naked Samoans fresh from their final series of Bro’town; Oscar nominated Taika Waititi; and Grammy winner Jemaine Clement (Flight of the Conchords),” said NZ On Air Chief Executive Jane Wrightson...

Flight of the Conchords Season 2 Album Cover

So...word on the street says that FotC will do another tour April/May-ish of '09. Arj Barker just posted a blog listing a few gigs he has scheduled with Flight of the Conchords.

Best TV Duos

The new season of Flight of the Conchords debut[ed] January 18, and we're excited to see where Bret and Jemaine's career is headed now that Murray's all wrapped up with the Crazy Dogs. We'll follow them anywhere, because the dynamic duo from New Zealand has become one of our favorite TV pairs of all time. Yes, they are better than Lucy & Ethel. Yes, they are better than Starsky & Hutch. Yes! They are even better than Jon & Ponch (those guys hated each other in real life, anyway).
