12/28/07 | Deadline for Birthday Art Extended

Vacation Notice

Off I go on vacation to ring in the New Year with friends and family. I'll be available via email, so please feel free to send in any last-minute artwork you may have for decorating Jemaine's party space. Just note that there will be a delay in receiving emailed responses from me through January 8th.

I look forward to partying with everyone on January 9th (Jan. 10th if you're in NZ). Have a Happy, Safe New Year!

12/23/07 | A JCFB Virtual Birthday Party

Yep. That's correct. Two Minutes in Heaven and JCFB have joined forces to host Jemaine's virtual birthday bash. We hope you can make it.

Date: Wednesday, January 9, 2008 (U.S.)

There will be party pages full of Jemaine Clement birthday artwork and fan submissions. There will also be a Shout Box available for everyone to leave birthday well-wishes throughout the day.

We'll also be featuring a video montage by Sara (aka Skmaximus the Youtube whiz), a greeting card and poem by Two Minutes in Heaven, a virtual potluck menu (stay with me here), and a Flash presentation by yours truly. It should all work out to be a good time shared by Jemaine fans from across the globe.

Please email me if you would like to submit something for the occasion. Every graphic and image is grately appreciated since we'll be using fan art to decorate the party space.

The Deadline for submissions is December 27th.

Many, many thanks to everyone (you know who you are) who has helped with this event.

I try to stick with Jemaine news to prevent fan site redundancy, but it's hard when he's got a weedy needy guy as his sidekick. I jest. I love Bret too♥. Anyway, here's an honor that I couldn't resist posting:

NZ Herald Articles

Got a minute? If you didn't catch it on Conchords.net, there was a blurb on Flight of the Conchords in the NZ Herald dated December 15th granting them credit for sharing NZ comedy on an 'international stage.' Also in the NZ Herald, FotC was given the #1 spot in their list of "local talent who made the most significant contributions to our year in entertainment." Read that scoop here.

The Web We Weave

We are not alone it seems...according to this blog post, there is a knitting forum (with 34,000+ members strong) that has an actual Flight of the Conchords discussion group with 16 different threads dedicated to the guys. What's neat about it (yes, I think it's great) are the pattern ideas that have been shared amongst the group like: Mars & Venus symbols, Sideburns, 9-5 p.m., and Business Socks.

12/15/07 | Another JCFB Favorite: "Jemaine-isms"

I had no idea that Skmaximus was the Youtube mastermind behind this clever video montage. I know many of you may have already seen it, but it's a favorite of the JCFB and I'm honored to have finally met the person behind it.

And guess what? Skmaximus has agreed to put together a custom video montage exclusively for the virtual birthday party JCFB is hosting for Jemaine. I'm posting updates on the fly, so stay posted on details. I'm so excited!

NZ Comedy Guild Awards

Thanks to Nicole over at Conchords.net, we know of yet another award nomination for Flight of the Conchords. They were nominated by the NZ Comedy Guild Awards for the Kevin Smith Memorial Cup for Best Artist Achievement along with Rhys Darby.

I can't say enough about this video. Dandy Lyons (thanks Dandy) found it over on Youtube and it's a new favorite of the JCFB (Note: After all this time, I come to find that Amanda made this video - small world).

If you thought you had enough swooning to do over the kiss button on the home page, think again. In a word, it's Jemaizing.

Eagle vs. Shark has hit Australian movie screens and as part of the buzz, there was a news article written about it in The Courier Mail.

12/13/07 | WGA Award Nomination

So many updates. My head is spinning...

It was just announced that the Flight of the Conchords have been nominated for the 60th Annual Writers' Guild of America (WGA) Awards for Best Comedy Series and Best New Series. Congrats to the guys for such an auspicious nomination. Read the article

12/12/07 | Full Album Release Date

The Flight of the Conchords full album release date has been set for April 22, 2008. The album will be released through their current label, Sub Pop Records, and will feature 10-12 out of a possible 15 tracks. Keep your countdown clocks in working order and add this date to your calendar. To find out more, click here

That's good news all around. The coming year promises to be a good one for FotC with so many new things to anticipate.

12/11/07 | Jemainiacs Unite

Frankly, I'm still on the fence about adding a site forum as this may interfere with what's already out there. It was a split poll with "site forum" outnumbering "neither" by only a mere 2 votes. Stay tuned.

In the meantime, I've been enjoying the company of a lovely group of ladies on Myspace called, The Flight Attendants. This is a private group headed by the talented Dandy Lyons.

I would recommend the WTF forums if you'd like to interact with other Conchords fans. We have a great time posting on such intelligent topics as Jemaine's messsenger bag and the true color of Jemaine's eyes. *lol*
